Digital vs. Traditional Art

Digital art is an art created on the computer in digital form. The medium of computer art was developed during 1960s and opened new possibilities for abstract and figurative art. Digital art is an evolution of art itself, and is definitely a valid art form. It will never replace traditional art but is nothing to look down upon. It takes a great amount of skill, effort and patience, just as traditional art does.
Here is a picture i completed it by photoshop.

Brutalism in Art

Architecture is the most visible way of art, and every building has a certain type of style that resembles and tells the story of the time and place they were built in. Several movements took place during the 19th/20th Century. Some of the movements were:
Art Nouveau: It is characterized by having an abundance of odd shapes such arcs, curves, and designs. This style was prominent particularly in Paris, where the artist Siegfried Bing displayed this kind of style in the “Maison de l’Art Nouveau”. The Art Nouveau artists were inspired in nature, such as flowers, clouds, butterflies, marine creatures, as well as the female figure.
The Art Nouveau was well accepted in Mexican society because of its daring composition. Some examples of this style in Mexico are the “Gran Hotel de México” and the “Roma” colony.

Land Art

Land Art is created by combining art and nature in a complex way. Land art is also known as Earth Art or Earthworks. This art is designed directly in the physical landscapes with the help of natural substances and organic media like leaves, stones, soil, rocks, water, logs, etc. Mechanical earth moving equipment is also used by few artists. Artists show their reaction against industrialization and urbanization through the land art. Before the origin of modern land art, it has been already created by artists for last centuries. But this land art movement became popular somewhere between 1960 and 1970 in America and soon adopted by the artists all over the world. The main part of this art is reforming and redesigning of the landscape.

Renaissance Art

It is agreed that the Renaissance was a period of great art and architectural feats and ingenuity, during which artists looked back to the classical art of Greece and Rome from which to draw inspiration. This influence can easily be seen in the many paintings and sculpture that came out of the Renaissance. However, the conservative nature of the period, the subject matter, and the restrictions imposed upon artists of that time kept the Renaissance from truly becoming a return to the classics of Greece and Rome.

The most obvious factor in the difference between the two artistic periods is the predominant subject matter the artists of the time chose. In ancient Greece and Rome, the subject matter most popular among artists were depictions of myths, war, or intellectual figures: statues of the gods decorated nearly every significant architectural landmark of the time. Being a Christian society, the art of the Renaissance did not simply depict various bible stories, but also moral stories permeated with religious allusions and symbolism.

Impressionism

Impressionism: “a theory or practice in painting especially among French painters of about 1870 of depicting the natural appearances of objects by means of dabs or strokes of primary unmixed colors in order to simulate actual reflected light.” (“Impressionism.“) During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s a revolution in art began in France. Impressionism was a drastic change from the artwork from the Renaissance and the period of Romanticism in art. It was also the beginning of modern art. Famous Impressionistic artists include – a man dubbed the leader of Impressionism – Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Mary Cassatt, and Auguste Renoir.
Impressionism can be characterized by short, quick brush strokes that when being viewed from a very close distance looks disarranged and absurd. Yet, when these paintings are viewed from far away they are beautiful and organized.

Postmodern art

Postmodern art decided to make revolutionary break with past and questioned previous theories known as “big narratives” of art, politics, economics and overall culture in order to create new theories. The big part of postmodern theory deals with the belief of preexistence of the art all around us. The artist is the one who can recognize these elements of art around as and synthesize them into the art work. This art work becomes object of interpretation which inevitably varies among different generations, social groups, national group, religious groups, and depends on some extent of the educational level of the observers and it is also different in the same individual in different times or environments. The different interpretations of the same art work give different meaning to it. Artists' creation is influenced by the time and place where he/she is creating, but interpretation of their work also depends on the context in which the art work is interpreted.

Art of drawing

The simplistic art of contemporary drawing has always been concerned with making marks. Different artist exploit lines to make marks, which come together to express or create a feeling the particular artist is communicating. Drawing or making marks has been around longer than any other art form as cavemen where the first to discover the art. Since this time artist have been able to manipulate line and colour using not only pencil or graphite, but using charcoal, ink, water colour pencils and micro pens, creating a mixed media artwork classified as contemporary drawing art. The artists Keith Barley, Caitlin Hackett and Kiel Johnson all have very unique styles of drawing and the language of these artists have been expressed through the heaviness, tightness and looseness of their emotive contemporary drawing. Even though there are many different media’s for artworks today, most artworks start from a simple pencil drawing that has been later developed and expressed through different media which has categorized drawing as the foundation of artwork of the 21st Century artist.

African Art

African Art does not have specific date to which it evolved because most early African Art was carved in wood, which perished quickly. This is why most art dates from the 19th and early 20th century. Many 20th century artists admired and collected pieces of African Art. They enjoyed the bold color, expression, and form that produced a new beginning in art history. African Art was mostly dedicated to life affirming activities such as healing, pleasure, protection, and transformation.

Environmental art

Environmental art is a genre of art that was established in the late 1960’s and it was created by things found in nature to make a piece of art. Some of the the environmental art would be so large in size, that it would be considered to be monumental. This kind of art can not be moved without destroying it, and the climate and weather can change it. There are many reasons why an artist would create an environmental work of art, such as : to address environmental issues affecting earth today, to show things that could be powered by nature or be interactive with natural phenomenon (like lighting or earthquakes), or to show how people can co-exist with nature, or maybe use it as a means to help restore ecosystems in an aesthetic way. (greenmuseum) Based on the artworks of Michael Heizer, Walter de Maria, and Robert Smithson, that have created and expanded the wonderful genre of environmental art. The major concepts underlying their art will define the roots of this genre throughout history.

Art in our life

There are many aspects of art, literature, dance, science, etc. that have gotten society to where it is today. We have come from the days where owning a slave was normal, to serving prison time for treating someone unequally. Art has influenced our society ever since the past began being recorded. Cave paintings have been found all over the world. These findings prove people felt the need to express themselves in ways other than words.

relaxation

What is relaxation? Is it sitting on a beach somewhere? Is it going to a bar and having a few drinks, then dancing wildly and not remembering it the next day? Is it getting a back massage? Is it spending time with friends and family? Is it playing a video game or reading a book or taking a leisurely walk? Is it taking a nap on Sunday after church?

As with all things, the definition of true relaxation varies for everyone, and it might even vary at different times. Sometimes I do not feel like sitting still to relax.

loneliness

Loneliness is an odd concept. After a long time of being lonely, you not only start to talk to yourself, but you talk to anyone who will listen. You tell them crazy stories. You give them compliments on their hair or shoes. Anything to lessen the pain of having nobody to talk to and share things with.

At the same time, people are frustrating and exhausting. You want to spend time away from them, and you want to excise certain people from your life completely...

In the end, you're lonely. Hell is other people. Hell is lack of people.

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Modern Architecture Design in Singapore. This hotel resembles a cruise ship floating on three tall structures. The top floor is where the eye is led to, the three buildings connected by the top floor are simple but it is the connecting force at the top that makes this hotel special. The way the top element is curvy and smooth contrasts nicely with the cold, rectangular shape of the hotels beneath it.

Turner(4)

Here i want to share you a interesting things, in the age, there is another famous landscape painter. His name is John Constable, In 1832, Constable has one painting show in the school gallery.
This painting was just hanging beside the Turner's painting. Before the art show, they had three days to adjust their work. Turner was standing in front of Constable's work for a long time, then he walked back to his painting add a very small red dot.
Because this red dot, the whole picture became lively, and the Constable's painting also became rigid.

After this, Turner left without saying a word.Just after he went out, Constable came in, he found the thing looked the small dot said:" He came before and already give me a shot!"

Turner(3)

I always think, Turner was a smart painter. better than Van Gogh(Van gogh only sold out one picture in his whole life). why i think so? because him drew those popular things first, after he gained his popularity and became richer,he began to draw something he like. His drawing can be quiet and beautiful.
also can be strong and crazy
but all of his drawing had a lot of details.

Turner(2)

Maybe, you will think, This is nothing for a painter.but look at this picture.
This picture had done by him when he was 11 years old. It was amazing right!
so what is other mystical things he done?
Turner granted a special recruitment by Royal College of Art,where was the highest art palace in British.the time he was only 14!
And cause of his outstanding drawing skill, when he was 15 years old, his works already showed in school gallery.
Once again, when he was 26 years old,he break a rule again.this time he became the youngest member of the college!

This man calls Turner, One of the most great painter in 18th century. Look at this portrait, very handsome right? but i will tell you,he not only handsome, but also gifed, he was a genius! why i said that? looking this picture
He can use sketch quickly record down what scenery he saw, then made them become watercolor when he came back to his place.

Two great paintings about Da vinci's work

Compare to Mona Lisa, the work- Last Supper is also a portfolio of him. There are 13 people in this painting—Jesus and his 12 disciples. It was the last moment of death of Jesus. It was a great change that replaced saint light with natural light of the window.
As we know, Da Vinci was a humanist. So the saint mum in this painting-Saint Mum At Rock is more like a real mother not a goddess. It makes people to have a gracious feeling.

Mona Lisa

I think a picture of the most famous in the world is Da Vinci's work --Mona Lisa . Almost people  knew her, and almost people was conquered by her smile.
Mona Lisa was a very charming woman whose smile looked very mysterious. And what surprise people the most is that no matter in which direction to appreciate this painting, her eyes are always look at you in the eye. Is it funny or amazing?

Da Vinci

This time I want to recommend to you is a foreign painter! yes,he is da Vinci.
Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519) was an Italian Renaissance architect, musician, anatomist, inventor, engineer, sculptor, geometer, and painter. He has been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man" and as a universal genius.
Leonardo is famous for his masterly paintings, such as The Last Supper and Mona Lisa. He is also known for designing many inventions that anticipated modern technology, although few of these designs were constructed in his lifetime. In addition, he helped advance the study of anatomy, astronomy, and civil engineering. Renaissance humanism saw no mutually exclusive polarities between sciences and arts.

treegapore

Singapore is the best country I've seen green area .how green is it ?Almost able to see the tree where you go ,so I would like call it treegapore!
In fact, a green area is very important to the environment ! As society progresses , more and more people's lives are modernize , the city is now very difficult to see much of the tree, so this city's air quality is not so good
So more plant the tree is very necessary to all modernize city , because the tree not only improve air and landscaping , but also relieve the pressures of life!
The high cost of land in the city, but also to maintain such a high plant cover. Good job!Singapore.

bike

Bike is a popular means of transportation .It is a friendly environment transport tool.I like riding bikes when go travelling or go shopping.Nowdays motor cars are increasingly popular but I think it will cause a lot of damage to us .First it will give out lots of waste gas, which will contribute to the global warming. It is bad for our earth.Second. the number of the cars is becoming larger and larger and the crowded traffic will certainly bring about the risk of safety. So I think riding a bike is a better choice if we take environment into consideration.
Cycling for me is not just good exercise items , but it also can regulate my mood. When I was in a bad mood , I'll bring my mp3, took my bike down to ride .When I finished ride back , my mood slowly getting better!
